Tip #1

** WASHING/BRUSHING YOUR PET AT HOME **

IF WASHING YOUR PET AT HOME WE RECOMMEND USING A HIGH QUALITY DOG SHAMPOO. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND USING PEOPLE SHAMPOO OR DISH DETERGENT, THESE PRODUCTS WILL STRIP THE COAT AND SKIN OF NEEDED OILS AND CHANGE THE pH ALSO. WHEN DRYING YOUR PET AT HOME, MANY PEOPLE USE A HAIR DRYER. BE SURE TO PUT THE HEAT SETTING ON COOL OR LOW TO PREVENT BURNING THE SKIN, DRYING OUT THE COAT, AND OVERHEATING THE DOG.

WHEN BRUSHING YOUR PET AT HOME BE SURE TO BRUSH THE ENTIRE DOG INCLUDING THE TAIL, EARS, ARMPITS AND ANY OTHER FRICTION POINTS. IF YOUR PET WEARS A COLLAR, CLOTHES OR JACKETS. TRY TO BRUSH THEM MORE OFTEN DUE TO THE CLOTHING CAUSING FRICTION IN THESE AREAS LEADING TO MORE TANGLES AND MATTING.

DOGS WITH LONGER HAIR NEED TO BRUSHED OUT EVERY TIME THEY SWIM OR GET BATHED TO PREVENT TANGLES FROM GETTING WORSE CAUSING WHAT I CALL "BATH MATTING"

NEVER ATTEMPT TO SCISSOR OUT A MAT IN THE COAT.

OVER THE YEARS I HAVE SEEN PETS INJURED BY THEIR OWNERS TRYING TO USE SCISSORS TO CUT OUT MATS.

PLEASE LEAVE THIS TASK FOR THE PROFESSIONALS TO HANDLE USING THE PROPER EQUIPMENT.
